Voicemail Isn't Working

greensparkles44
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

For the past two days I am unable to access my email.  This code keeps coming up:

Error performing request

Unknown error

Please advise.

Thanks!

@greensparkles44   thanks for the update.  Yes, it's always good to first reboot the phone once.  There is some weird glitch here, a reboot would solve some of those issues

Enjoy

**just want to mail sure, you are talking about Voicemail not working and not email, right? your title said voicemail but the body of your message said email.  I would try to help by assuming you are actually talking about Voicemail

Can you access your voicemail from a landline?  If so, at least the voicemail itself has no problem

Next, you might want to try the list of VM from here:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Updated-list-of-Voicemail-Access-Numbers/...

They all supposed to be calling the same voicemail and you can use anyone.  Start with those in your province and try them.  If you found one works, you might want to change your voicemail number preset on your device.  Let us know the model of your phone and we can assist in how to change the voicemail number stored on your device.

@greensparkles44

Perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings, this may fix strange finicky voicemail issues

This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Iphone:

To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode.

Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.

android:

Find and tap Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.

If still issues after that, and you have a voicemail number saved in your contact list, Delete It. Then see @Yummy post and enter a number in your phone and save it as your voicemail contact, from the link they provided.

You may choose the one that is local to you if you wish.

If you are having email issues, that is not a Public Mobile problem unless you cannot browse through any sites with data.

Try clearing your browser's cache or try a different browser. Also, you can try opening a tab in Chrome or Microsoft Edge incognito mode to see if that helps.

Seems to be an issue with a few customers lately, but the suggested troubleshooting seemed to fix it for them bc they didn't come back to their threads and say otherwise.

@greensparkles44

Try to do a rebooting of your phone and see if that helps. Power off then wait 2 minutes and power back on.
