VoLTE on Samsung A71

My Samsung A71 stopped receiving calls or calling out.  PM Agent said that Samsung A71 device is not VoLTE-compatible with PM's network and the phone is affected by the shutdown of the 850Mhz frequency on 3G/HSPA.  , although it may be compatible with the Telus or Koodo network. They suggested getting a new SIM card which might work or getting a new phone.    Has anybody tried a new SIM card on Samsung A71 and any idea of the odds of it working.  A new SIM isnt very expensive, but if it wont work, it it just a waste of money.

These devices may have originated from different supply chains or have different software installed.

I have 3G service and phone is not VoLTE activated and I have NO issue receiving and placing calls. Samsung S10.

Getting new SIM will not improve your PM service. If you have funds available consider getting new phone, approved by PM. BUT before you buy it it will be a very good practice to stick your SIM into potential new phone and confirm VoLTE is set on and you can receive/place calls and use SMS, etc.

I hate to say it @Pjt2023 but if you're wanting to keep your plan and stay with this service, it's time to upgrade your phone to something on the VoLTE approved list.

To confirm if your phone will work with Public Mobile, please see this link. These are currently and mildly out of date lists of what can work.

@Pjt2023 , a new SIM card will not affect VoLTE capability.  If a phone is not VoLTE whitelisted on this service, there is nothing that can be done.  It is unfortunate you have been given totally incorrect information.
