@RJR , I actually came back from a driving trip through WA.  Highway 101 coverage is pretty iffy.  The bigger highways have a lot better coverage.  I only bought data, used whatsapp, google voice, google chat for communications.  I would say coverage is average for the state.  Not much changes since my prior visit 6 years ago.

Thanks @will13am  nothing better than a real   user review   🙂

Thank you.  Most interested in talk and text.

HI @RJR

you need voice or data? or both

For voice, you will need T-Mobile 2G network, according to  https://www.gsma.com/coverage/#466 , T-Mobile has 2G there, so, no worry

For data, you can use LTE on both AT&T and T-Mobile, so, you should be good

But , if you are going long , or need lots of data, it is better to get local data sim card there than buying expensive roaming add-ons

Talk is very dodgy these days. Text and data should be fine. For talk, connect to T-Mobile as they have arranged that we can use their old 2G network. Your phone needs to be able to do 2G though. But coverage may be spotty as well.

There's no way to "make sure". Just as there's no way to make sure at home.
