Ive never been able to upload sms attachments with this Public Mobile and yesterday i tried to download one unsuccessfully but it circled around for a long time long time and burned up a huge amount of my Data.  Now public wants more payola to upgrade my gb's.   Any suggestion what to do?

Again i do not know what u mean by reset network settings because when i click on more beside network setting  all it says is the data Saver is on but when i click Mobile I get "Public Mobile has no known website". Can u be more specific?  thks     ps also do not know why computer Geek is on every answer?

I have not been involved in this thread other than changing the title as it was deemed to be inappropriate as per the terms of service.

Answer to question 1: Yes, it should switch to Wi-Fi at your apartment.

Question 2: Attachments would be sent through your data, but have minimal if any impact on your data use.

REPLY TO CG'S MESSAGE OF 0329 RE: USE OF DATA-BELOW= i Rohny have turned off the limit on my data and that does not help.   I  think ( and because i was in the Lobby 15 floors below in my high rise building on Thursday or Friday while i was downloading and therefor on data and not wifi using up 314 Mb of my data which ordinarily would have carried me to end of my billing cycle on 040225) i am out of my 3g of data because of failed downloads of attachments on sms messages then ( plus forever when i try to download, on Libby, an audio book from the library i cannot do that directly and have to go to my library overdrive on my computer  to download it and only then it shows up on my ulefone android smart phone as borrowed).   Almost simultaneously coincidently on Thursday or Friday the Telus internet connection for my wifi on the Ulefone slipped off (still not sure why) but not my computer, internet, & Tv- provider =- Telus's Technician this Saturday AM helped me to realize not to use the password for "My Telus" but the password on my modum = so now i do have wifi connection on my Ulefone and some of my apps like outlook r now working  and i presume off of Wifi.  What puzzles me is that throughout all of this i was able to use my Google App with everything down late yesterday afternoon in the lobby as i live on the 15th floor of a 33 storey high rise building.   Question 1 = when i have both the wifi and the data turned on does the phone automatically go to wifi  when i am in  my apartment? and  Question 2 if that is so, should not the sms text messages and any attachments have the huge data within my wifi system and not impede the upload of sms attachments?

yes, if you are using MMS , it shouldn't use your data even you need to turn on Mobile Data on the phone

if you cannot use any data, it will be because of the data limit you set on the phone.  The phone data limit would count data used on MMS as well so it will count more.  Disable the data limit on the phone, reboot phone, reset network settings and try again

1. Go into your settings and reset your network settings. Then reboot.

2. Go into your settings and go to cellular and turn off automatic and pick Public Mobile and reboot.

3. Make sure your mobile data is turned on. If it is, try sending something or try asking a friend to say something. This should reset your problem.

Side note, edit the title and remove the R word at the beginning. That will trigger the Oracles to delete the thread and all the help everyone here has offered will be removed.

hi @Rohny 

Remember , you need to turn on Mobile data to receive MMS but it won't really cost you another data.  So, they just need the data channel opened, but it is not using your data quota.  So, no matter how long it need for download, they are not using the quota

if you see the data usage showing up on the usage history around mid night, that is the total data usage for the day, not the data used on that particular moment.

how much is "huge"?

you can check if PM if the amount is reason unreasonable

Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.)  Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
