Silly me. Went from 25$ to 40$ before looking at coverage map. Coverage is TERRIBLE here in PEC, ON. Even with a Wilson amp and through-the-roof Wilson mount in my car. Doesn't seem to help at all. Anyway, I'm going to ride out the 5g upgrade and go back to 4g.
Funny though, I was paying 25$ before going 5g (previously 9$ before the big kerfuffle), now I see the bottom tier is 30$.
What gives?
Best regards, Paul.

You'd need to disable the Wi-Fi on your device. This can be done by swiping down from notification area at the top of your screen. I'd be careful with this as it could do more harm than good if the Wi-Fi doesn't get turned back on afterwards. Also, these speed tests can use considerable amounts of data.
I turned off my wifi and got these results:
Download: 0.69 Upload: 0.17

Question: With this 5g plan that I'm now on, will I experience fewer dropouts, dead spots? I suspect not, but I'm not sure.
Thank you.

There is no difference in coverage between any of the plans. All plans at Public Mobile give identical coverage and access to the same networks.

Silly me. Again. Inadvertently clicked on the solved button. These things happen when you are in your 84th year.
Where do I go to open a ticket?
Thank you.

Unfortunately, you got sucked into upgrading to a more expensive plan that doesn't work for you.
Downgrading back to your cheap $25 is probably impossible. PM makes it very difficult for customers to downgrade.
In your situation, I would still suggest that you open a ticket with a customer agent and plead your case. PM baited you with the promise of blazing 5G speed when it was not available in your area. It seems unfair that you have to pay more to get less. For what it's worth, imo, pm should do the right thing and allow you to go back to your previously cheap plan. Good luck.

It sounds like you have some 5G coverage in your area and your phone is trying to stay on that network. You can change the preferred network type in the settings of your phone. I would go in and change yours to LTE/4G. You will still get the additional plan data you purchased and will have the same coverage that you did before switching your phone to the 5G network.
