How to resume my old plan?

I suscribed to public mobile in may or june 2024 with a 20$ plan, I had to go to the USA in Oct 2025, so I upgraded my plan for a month thinking I could go back to my 20$ plan once I get back,, I do not need a 40$ plan, now I suppose I should have added adds on instead. customer service says I can only get the plans offered in Manage subscription, which are 35$, 40$ and 50$, I dont want to pay for a service I dont need, so how do I make them understand it makes no sense, I could still be at the activation price of 20$ in 2029 for all I know if I had not needed the USA plan for a month.

Sucks yes.

Add-ONS can be good if you need it temporarily.  

Just for your information Public Mobile won't charge long distance.  Your phone will just not work if you don't have the proper plan.

The plans are always changing so keep watching your account.

They also send SMS with offers for cheaper plans from time to time.

yeah thanks all for the answers, I guess thats how they scam us in a way, if I hadnt needed 1 month USA, like I said I would still pay 20$ so because I needed to make sure I wouldnt have a 500$ bill when coming back from the USA, now Im stuck paying 40$ a month, I used that phone everywhere hospital, bank and government, I would have to contact everyone again to change my phone number to access my online portals, I guess I dont have a choice to overpay for the moment and I guess even if I change to another company the same will happen again if I need adds-on or whatever

on the Sub page, it still offers, yes it says for new activations only, and I was still paying that price until October and I would still be paying it, so I gather from everyone's answers is that I would need to make a new account and get a new phone number to get back to the 20$ plan, and if I dont ever wish for a temporary upgrade I would pay 20$ a month for however how long that plan still exists, so if that plan still exist lets say in 2028, I would still pay 20$, it just doesnt make senses and if it feels like stealing

Unfortunately,  a lot of people changed to high plans and like yourself are trying to downgrade back to same or lower without luck.

As you have indicated that the agents are not willing to help as you can only change to plans within your My Account. 

You can choose the lowest you see and select to Change on Renewal to it. AND hope that eventually you will see lower ones after a few months, but highly unlikely. 

Or

If you don't care about your phone number and all the Rewards that you may have in your account now, port out to another provider breifly and port back.

New activations will see lower than $40 plans.

That will however require new email, rewards  etc.

@zaderia Unfortunately, you can't downgrade your plan if you don't see it in your account. They now offer personalized offers, so you don't see cheaper plans once you upgrade. If you really don't want to pay more and don't need one of those plan, you might just have to port out elsewhere temporarily. Then come back to PM if they offer cheaper plan in the future.

sorry @zaderia , you can't

first, the plan could no longer available to anyone anyway.  this is true for all carriers, not all carriers will carry the same plan forever

also, PM now only offer selected plans based on your current profile, so , they won't offer all plans to everyone 

sorry, you can only change to plan you see no your My Account
