I currently have the the $34 Can/US. Can I switch to the $29 CAN/US/Mex? Alternatively , can I cancel my current subscription and sign up for $29 CAN/US/MEX?

Came here to ask exactly the same question. Want to switch from $34 US/Can 50G @ 5G to the $29 US/Can/Mex 10G @5G. The main motivation is b/c it's cheaper, has Mexico. And in particular I use very little data.
I am very disappointed that Public Mobile doesn't allow changing the subscription. Wrote message to CS_Agent, not sure if this will be accepted.

All plans are really new activation only unless it shows up in your account, so when it says new activations only, that means nothing now. Sometimes, the plans that say new activations only are available in the accounts of current customers.

Good to know! I have only switched once since public reward phased out and was not aware of intricacies involving plan downgrade. Will be more through fil with my plan swaps going forward.

you are correct...BUT...Public Mobile forgets to tell customers that have higher cost plan, that they won't be able to easily downgrade to cheaper cost plans. That information is only found out after customers find they don't need so much data or 3 country calling any longer. Now, those of us using the cheaper plans have learned our lesson not to upgrade without serious consideration.

If you see cheaper plan when you sign up to your account then - Yes, you can downgrade your subscription.
If you do NOT see it, then you cannot.
Yes, you can cancel your current plan and sign up again BUT! you would need new SIM, new email and you will get new phone number. You cannot reuse neither of these 3 items.

Hey @KN6892
It is utterly ridiculous that you should have to take such drastic measures dealing with Public Mobile. Send a message to a CS Agent and kindly request the change. If they refuse, then speak with your wallet and find another provider.

@KN6892 since this plan is not available to existing members, some people choose to port out to another provider and port back it in after a few days. Not sure it's worth the trouble as you will loose whatever you paid already so far here, and you will lose whatever you paid at the new the provider for that time-frame.

@KN6892 You can only change to plans that are seen in your app. Unfortunately (I am the same plan as you) you will not see the $29 plan. PM has mad it very difficult to get a cheaper plan. If by cancel you mean close the account and start fresh, then yes you would have access to the $29 plan.
