If I purchase a phone from Public Mobile can it be unlocked so that I can use it in Europe when travelling? Thanks!

@Duncanbc - the phone you purchase is unlocked sure; but, if the question was also - can you use Public Mobile services or your plan while in Europe, that answer is No.
Public Mobile plans only work whilst in Canada (in USA, Roaming addons needed to be purchased for service).

Go to settings, about then scroll down.
If you see this.
It is unlocked.
Or run a full reset on using iTunes and if unlocked, which I suspect it is, the last screen will tell you.
Also all phones sold in Canada after December 2017 had to be sold unlocked and ALL iPhones sold from Apple store are unlocked.

As of 2017, all carriers are not allowed to lock phones so don’t worry about it.

All cellphones sold in Canada have to be unlocked, AFAIK.

All phones are sold unlocked by pm but just remember to update your carrier profile when you insert your local or international SIM card once you arrive in Europe. Here's some options for your pm service while travelling.
Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels and Stay--Safe!

@Duncanbc All phones purchased with PM are unlocked. You just have to make sure the phone has the proper bands to be used in the country you want. But iPhone should be OK, a safe choice
