When using data on my iphone, I'm able to open apps and use them, but when I open safari, I get a message saying 'Safari can't open the page because your phone is not connected to the internet'. Safari works when I'm connected to wifi though.
I can't figure out if this is an issue with my iphone settings or with my data from Public mobile.
Rebooting the phone does not help. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

If apps and other things are working on data and its just safari not working, it is an issue with your device, but it sounds like a settings issue, not a physical issue. I would suggest trying to Reset network settings (this will erase all connected wifi's), and try looking in Settings for Safari and clear cookies/cache. And if you haven't already, sometimes a quick refresh of the phone (turn it off and on) can do wonders.

Another test would be to install another browser on your phone (like Chrome or DuckDuckGo etc) and see if it's working with data, that would give you a better indication that it's probably a Safari setting.

@Howittl latest iOS updated? updated your Carrier Profile?
last, try to Reset network settings at Settings > Beneral> Transfer or Reset [device] > Reset > Reset network Settings

@Howittl I would think it's more likely something with your settings. I tried turning data access for Safari off under cellular on my iPhone but it gives a different message, but you might want to check that. Apple has some other suggestions, like clearing cache on Safari here
