USA 3G network is being eliminated

I went to the USA...upstate New York. I put 1GB of data as an Add-on. It barely worked for the 3 days there. I know the notification says the USA is "turning down" their 3G network but the USA is their turning off 3G network. Please do not rely on this as I did. T Mobile rep told us there is less than 21% of the USA with access to 3G and it is decreasing daily. They are not repairing or servicing the old 3G network.

Yeah I think it is a long time coming, either update the add ons or pull them off altogether, the posts about nightmare experiences with this has increased exponentially

Hii left the phone automatic. I tried to manually select AT&T but it was also not available. It clearly said " no internet". Couldn't open maps, send it receive an email. Had to rely on open WiFi networks at chain stores like Walmart and Lowe's. Very frustrating.

I had the same issue in WA earlier this summer.  The phone would connect to T-Mobile but not AT&T.  I had no issues with data so long as I was connected to T-Mobile.

@Kimjohnston060   you tried manually connected to T-Mobile as well?

@Kimjohnston060   Since you got only 1GB roaming data, live is easier for you when you roam in US.  You don't need 3G for data , you can connect to AT&T and T-Mobile's LTE network for roaming data.

For both US and Canada, your plan could be a 3G speed plan, but that doesn't mean you cannot use LTE network.  You can still use LTE network , just that the speed capped at 3G speed, which mean 3Mbps. Usually, leave your phone Preferred network with Automatic, or 4G/3G/2G and your phone will pickup the LTE network for you

(FYI, the only impact for roaming for the 3G shutdown in US if voice.  But you can use T-Mobile 2G network for voice )
