URGENT PORT NUMBER TO NEW CARRIER

I need to port my number to a new carrier but my service has ended, so I cannot recieve the SMS text to accept porting the number over

@Edyta1  Doesn’t have to be day before it ends , but as close to it so you don’t loose money is all I’m saying

Oh I see, I’ve already went to get a new plan but didn’t know I had to transfer the number the day before my service ended,

@Edyta1  No it’s pre paid service no refunds , it’s why I said you should then keep for another 27 days after resuming service .then port . So you don’t loose money

If I purchase the $15 account and cancel right away, will I be refunded for the unused amount

I'm sorry I meant to come back to this thread as I read older posts about porting out and the only way to not have active plan is if you were going to koodo or telus since they are related companies but otherwise you need to reactivate your plan here.

@Edyta1   if you login to My Account, does it show ON HOLD or showing the current cycle ends today?

if it shows ON HOLD, you have no choice but to activate your account to port out the number.  The only exception to this is if you are porting to Koodo or Telus, as they are all one Telus family, the number didn't really leave Telus door.

@Edyta1  Both lines  need to be active to port , if your PM services is suspended/ on hold . You need to make payment resume services to be able to port . But if you do that you should just use the service for the next 27 days and port just before the 30 day cycle is up so you don’t loose money

I do not want to purchase a plan again just to port as my service just ended today, and I am still able to receive text from EverSafe for example to log into my account

I think you need to renew your plan to be able to port out your number.  Consider changing to the $15 plan as it's the cheapest option and allow you to receive the sms and port out.
