@LeciaroverRTK

Public Mobile can unlock the phone for you but you need the IMEI # to give customer support. Have the buyer give you the IMEI # by dialing *#06# on the iPhone and the CSA agent will get Apple to unlock the phone.

To contact customer support : Submit a support ticket via SIMon the chat bot Click here

They will need to bring it into a Telus store to have it unlocked for free or a mom & pop cell repair store to have it unlocked.

At the Telus store, they will need your mother’s Telus account number to have it unlocked.

Good luck!

Just have to get the unlock code from Telus (or Telus owned providers) I am assuming the person you sold it to is a little p1ssed at this time?

@LeciaroverRTK Yes, PM will unlock for Telus

HI @LeciaroverRTK   Technically if the phone you got was from Telus, you should ask them

But with PM owned by Telus, you can try to open ticket with them.  At : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot. Follow this to get to ticket open screen quicker:

  1. start by typing : Contact CS Agent
  2. then Click "Contact Us"
  3. then Click "Other"
  4. finally Click "Click here to submit a ticket"
you will then direct to another page to open ticket.

After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM's CS Agent

If you have problems submitting a ticket, you can also send a private message to the CS Agent (but this can take longer):

Where did you buy the 6s? If Koodo or Telus contract then it is locked to Telus.

But that sim is in my mothers new phone

I got her an iPhone 8 and we just pop the sim out  iPhone 6s and put it in the 8. I sold the iPhone 6s to someone. And they can’t get it to with bell. Just wondering would the phone be locked on public moblie

Old phone, new phone; phone does not matter.

Both accounts have to be active and you initiate porting at Bell. Leave PM SIM in the phone, answer Yes at porting authorization SMS within 90 minutes.

Are you saying you switch phone numbers on your mother's account?  If you did that then the old number will be lost.

@LeciaroverRTK , in order for you to transfer your number out, you need to make sure the account is active and you have to acknowledge the number transfer out.  See link below.
