I asked the public mobile bot how to suspend my account (not cancel it - but suspend it). The instructions were:
=============
Go to Account Settings
Select “Suspend Service” option
Choose your suspension period (up to 120 days maximum)
Your service will be suspended at midnight on your next payment date
During suspension, you won’t be charged for your plan
Your phone number remains reserved for you
Reactivation:
Service automatically reactivates after your chosen suspension period
==============
I'm logged into my PM account (using a PC / Web browser) and I don't see "Account Settings" anywhere.
Does it exist? What do I click on?

Turning off autopay does not suspend a service on its own and does not cause a service to immediately cease. In addition, simply turning autopay back on will not reactivate service. When an account has been suspended because the plan renewal payment was missed, the payment must be made manually.

The chatbot instructions also said the account would automatically be re-activated at the end of the chosen suspension time.
Please ignore the chatbot. It is wrong. There is no 120 account suspension option and service does not automatically resume after any set amount of time.

Who told you 120 days maximum? it is not true, only 90 days
You can use this link to quickly Suspend the service:
https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/profile/lost-or-stolen-phone
It is report lost-stolen, but no worry, it is just account suspension and no more, your phone won't be blacklisted or anything
or you can suspend it via My Account -> Payment -> Manage Subscription and toggle off "Subscribed" there
But remember, it is only 90 days, and not 120 days. And instead of resume service on the last day, give yourself couple days just in case. And make sure you able to receive 2FA code via email since your phone will be suspended and cannot receive 2FA

you can only suspend the account for 90 days and no more. Some people will suspend for 85 days, resume for 30 days and then suspend for another 85 days
to suspend, you can go to My Account, Payment page and Manage Subscription, and disable Subscribed there
