Travel to Philippines

I am traveling to the Philippines from canada. Will i be able to get sms messages from canada while i am in Philippines and respond?

A VPN won't help.  SMS text messaging doesn't use the internet and requires service to be available from Public Mobile.  As you won't be able to receive SMS text messages, you'll need to work with your bank to ifgure out others methods that will work for you.

Sorry, you need to purchase a local SIM or use WhatsApp or TextNow app on wifi for free calling and texting.

Sadly no. It will not work. The only one thing I'm not sure of is if you have an iPhone. iMessages work over wifi. Sadly I cannot confirm if you purchase a data only SIM card for the pines it would work. I'll let someone else share their overseas knowledge on it.

Public Mobile only works in Canada and the United States.
