I currently gave a PM account using a physical sim. I am planning to travel and need an international e-sim. If I get the e-sim, will I get a new phone number or can I make and receive calls internationally using my existing phone number ?

@MtnRoses most travel eSIMs are data only and you won't get any voice number assigned by them
and no, you still won't get PM's voice call or text with. travel eSIM overseas. But you can download VoIP app TextNow and it will assign you another 10 digits number. You can then use the app and make.recive calls and text on that other phone number

If traveling internationally, once you leave Canada or USA, your PM service will just stop no matter what travel sim you use. You will be able to use travel data for use with WhatsApp or TextNow...just won't do anything for your PM service.
added...
you can download WhatsApp to keep in touch with other fam and friends who also use WhatsApp. Alternative is to download TextNow to your cellphone and get a free acct and a free ph number. You'll be able to make and recieve calls and texts with TextNow using either local wifi or your separately purchased travle data.
