This is good if you only need a little bit extra because the add-on doesn't expire.  But if you need more, it might be good to change the plan for a few months - it's easy to change it back again.

As mentioned already by others, review the plan you are on, if you don’t have many days left but need more data now, you CAN do an immediate change to a higher data plan which will toss away any remaining time you had on your existing plan and start your new 30 day plan right then along with charging you for that plan. This is frequently the best way to get more data right now. You (apparently) can not renew your existing plan immediately unless you have a moderator do it for you.

@gregorybehuniak yes to both questions. However, given the current crises if you find yourself adding $30 In data then, it's best to switch temporarily to the $50 plan. You can also call the US for free with this plan.

@gregorybehuniak  If you need more data best to renew your existing plan early. Currently the only way that can be done is by submitting a ticket to PM and ask them to do it for you. Just make sure you have the funds in your account before you contact them.

Yes. For plan change, be aware that there is no pro-rating here. If you change to another plan before the end of your term, you forfeit what you've paid for already.

Edit: and a new 30 day term starts

Yes, if you want more there is a 1GB for $30.  If want to change your plan early the you would lose any unused minutes/ texts.
