The S in UPS stands for sucks

Hi all, UPS historically refuses to acknowledge our rural address. Sadly I didn't know it would be shipped this way. Our phones were "returned to shipper" according to UPS. Does anyone know how I track them down now? UPS said they gave them back.

Telus cannot help, already tried. SIMon is as useful as a sack of hammers. Would appreciate any intel seeing as there is no one I can call.

Cheers

Some good news, some not. My phone showed up. Its nice and shiny. The speaker barely works so I have to use speaker phone and literally yell into it so people can hear me. "Check yer batt'ry Selma!"

I honestly wonder what in the blue blazes is going on here. Messaged the CSR and get promised a replacement one but nothing comes. Wait another week and get promised an immediate reply. Nothing.

Thank goodness my Son's phone showed up a week later and it does work.

This is getting very frustrating not being able to make calls, and little to no support.

I hate posting this here. It's gross and makes me look like a jerk. I'm not. But others need to see what is going on, and consider the risk. This has to be worse case scenario, but here it is.

Hoping to post some positive updates soon.

Cheers little village. Be excellent to each other.

A small update. One phone has arrived via CP with no changes needed to the address supplied.

Expecting the other to show up in a day or so.

I am a bit disappointed with not being contacted with any updates as to current status or a new tracking number.

Only posting this so others who purchase here can be aware the patience of Job will be a virtue to have.

They offered full refund soon as I contacted them for the record as well, which is most kind.

Now to see how this portal adventure goes.

Time to see if the Delorian will start and make it to “88”. 😜

That's fair if anyone doesn't do their part in giving the whole address. However, my phone number is right there in the event they couldn't figure it out. There was no call this time, or the other three times.

They are honestly the bane of our little community. Without even a depot in town as a last resort.

I am not the only one with challenges regarding their service. They are simply urban.

I have heard from P M customer service and they are tracking both our phones down. Offered a refund even which is very nice of them.

Thanks everyone for your patience, help and wisdom in this adventure.

In the past, items shipped with UPS, they haven't said up front they won't ship to me. They send a notice it was not deliverable and taken back to their main depot in the city. They of course offer to send it to another address if you want to pay the full shipping fee a second time. Very kind.

The only addresses that UPS does not deliver to are Canada Post PO boxes.  They can and will deliver to any other address as long as the complete details are provided, or at least they're supposed to.  There's no such thing as an area that UPS won't deliver to either.  Yes, there are areas that UPS doesn't do the delivery themselves, but they have contracts with other shipping companies to complete delivery.  If it's an area that UPS doesn't travel out to, they will give the pacakge to a contracted out company (often Canada Post) to the bring the package to the final destination.    It just happens to be that such locations are usually very expensive to ship to by UPS so it makes more sense to just use Canada Post from the start.

My Son and I have only just purchased our phones and SIM cards but we don't have a phone plan started yet. Was going to make the switch from the current provider and get the new plan in one fell swoop given we want to keep the same phone number.

I would strongly suggest to open self-serving account, activate SIM, pick any number, confirm ALL services work as expected (SMS/calls/Internet) and only then, after 2-3 days request porting of old number.

Of course, after receiving your phones... If you have any old phone you can use it get everything in order while waiting for new phones. Then just SIM swap from old to new phone.

@Inept   Welcome to PM.  Yes, there will be a free SIM coming with the CPO phone.    Occasionally,  PM will have weekend Flash sale for plans $35 above.  So, keep an eye before you activate if you are in no rush.

Also a reminder, your current plan with your current provider must be active for the porting.   So, hold on to it until you port into PM.  Once you successfully ported the number, your current plan will be closed

@Inept   Other than you purchased the phone , are you PM customer yet?  If you are not, then yes, Method 1 cannot be used.  You already opened ticket using method 2?  Then yes, it's all good and PM Support will contact you and work that out with you.  Reply here when this is resolved.

I cannot open a ticket, says my password is wrong. If I ask to change my password, P M doesn't like my email address. Yet it is the one they sent verification of shipping the phone.

I *think I was successful in using that direct link to get some help. Will update if that is met with good news or not.

For reference sake.

If they returned your phone back to PM, maybe you can request from PM agent to ship them by Canada Post? CP should deliver. Do you have any kind of tracking number?

Sack of hammers can be sold as scrap metal 🙂

@Inept   Open a ticket with PM Support and see what they can do.  On the CPO site, you can only enter the shipping address same as the billing address, so, even you have a alternate address, you cannot enter there.  But PM Support will be able to assist.

@Inept   Yes, courier might not send to everywhere.

Open a ticket with PM Support (send them the order number) and see if they can arrange an address to ship.

That is very disappointing for sure. I wonder why your address was accepted in their system?

By any chance do they deliver to the closest pick up depot to you?
