Texting not working

New customer - phone works, text will not send or receive. Anyone else have that happen?

Can make and receive calls. Can not send or receive texts

do you use iPhone or Android?

if iPhone, you sure iMessage was enabled? 

or if Android, you can try to clear the app cache

What do you mean 'phone works'?
Can you make and receive calls at your number? Does Internet work?
