Hi all,
My wife used up all her data for this cycle. The problem is that with her plan she has unlimited international texting so it should still function, correct?
It is an iPhone so does that mean we have to turn off iMessage to get it to text until the next renewal cycle?
Thanks in advance.

Although her messaging should still be able to work, there is a way to send as sms rather than using iMessage.
Go into settings, select messages, and when you scroll down there is an option that says “send as sms”, which allows the message to send as a regular text message rather than relying on having an internet connection to send it as an iMessage.

@Shrav, both SMS and MMS are not linked to the metered data bucket. Running out of data does not affect either SMS or MMS. For MMS, make sure to leave mobile data ON even though the metered data has been consumed. MMS uses unmetered mobile data which relies on the mobile data being ON.

A blue-bubble message is a data transaction. There should be an option to send messages out at as SMS only.
I'm not aware where it would be, or how to invoke it, but it's there somewhere.
I'm not fully aware of what happens with iPhones and iMessage when data buckets run out, as MMS messaging is included in the 'International texting' plan, and doesn't actually use any of the data bucket.
