I am doing some travelling next month and want to increase my data for that month, can I change a plan for a month, and then go back to my old plan again, ?
Solved! Go to Solution.

As long as your "old plan" is one that is currently still offered -- sure. I did exactly this a few weeks ago -- I am normally on the $15 plan, but over the last month visited another province for a few weeks, so on the day prior to my 30 day renewal date (Aug 11), I selected to schedule a plan change to the $25 / 1GB plan to start on my renewal date. Then a few days after the renewal, I went back into the portal and again scheduled a plan change back to the $15 plan - which will now take effect on Sep 11th.

You can increase your data only if you are travelling across Canada.
You will need to purchase Roaming Add-on if you are travelling in the USA.
Outside of Canada and USA, no options and need to purchase a local SIM.

Yes, you can change plan every 30 days or more often if you desire.
Optimal plan change will be Change on next renewal or you will be technically paying for 2 plans if you change plan Now. Timing is everything...

@Monkeycee Where are you traveling? You know PM doesn't offer any roaming outside of US right? Otherwise, if within Canada you'll be covered anywhere there are Telus/Bell towers/service, mostly..

yes you can go to lower cost plan but not for old plan grandfathered,
but are you travelling in canada to you can use the service or if you go to U.S then you need to buy it Add-ons, if other country will not working.

@Monkeycee Yes you can but if you're changing plans and are on a discontinued plan and are grandfathered in, then once you make a plan change, you'll not be able to change to the older plan but will be able to select from the current selection of plans. Also if you're planning on making a plan change before your renewal date, then you'll start a new 30 cycle and will not get any refund as PM doesn't prorate for unused features of your plan.
If possible try to Change at Next Renewal and once you've changed plans, then you can go back to Plans/Add-ons page and schedule (Change at Next Renewal) your plan change back to the one you have, if available (not grandfathered).
