I have inserted the existing SIM card into my Samsung S4 mini smartphone and when I turn on the phone, SIM card is not reading it.  Am I supposed to do something online to fix this?  Please help.

@dmichellelee - Did you complete the activation of the SIM card? IF not, you can activate it online here:

https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/portal/activation

IF you did complete the activation SIM card process - are you getting any error message?

Try one or more of the below (some may be repeated from the first reply, but I cannot follow their flow sometimes)

*turn off your phone, then reboot

*removing your SIM, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode, then going back to regular mode

*reset network settings on your device

*Is your phone locked? Contact your previous provider to unlock it for you. You will need your imei number, dial *#06# to get it.

*Check if your phone is blacklisted here: https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/

Or, if you had services before on another device than moved it over, were the SIM cards the same size? Ensure the fit is accurate.

 " your device is unlock!! "

@Anonymous  - sounds like you are yelling at OP to say 'their phone IS unlocked'

Did you mean questions marks instead of exclamation marks?

@dmichellelee the SIM was working without issue on the Blackberry?    you have another phone to test the SIM?

and was the S4 Mini working well before?  was it used in Canada before?

@dmichellelee

Do you have another sim card that you can try in your Samsung mini phone?
