Hi All,
I want to.suspend my Bell account while I try PM. I am hung up registering because it says "cancel" old provider. Is there a way to do this?

I was wirh Fido previously, I was able to suspend service. As long as you don't have a term contract for a device or your current plan the provider should be able to temporarily suspend your current service. With Fido I was able to do it in app sometimes you have more options logging in on a PC on a browser. I was skeptical at first but I have since ported my personal line and will be porting both my wife and son for the current offer.

Hello @Island-woman , if you want to suspend your Bell account while you try PM (register with a new number for now at PM) then you would need to talk to Bell about suspending your account with them temporarily until you decide whether or not you want to stay with them or stay with PM. Once you decide make sure to call Bell back to remove the suspension if you’re staying with them or staying with PM & porting your number to PM (after your number successfully ports over your account with Bell will permanently close). If you’re going to stay with PM & port your number here following the instructions to -> transfer a number after activation.

Hey @Island-woman
So this is what I did. I was on Rogers. I've always wondered about Public Mobile so I figured... why not. I went and picked up a SIM card at a local store... you can get one from Amazon as well for $4.99, and picked a new number and tried out the service in one of my other phones. I went to all the places I visit, friends, family, work and the cabin. I tried it for 2 months actually and ended up liking it. I ported my number over a few days before my Rogers payment was set to come out and have never looked back. Always nice to test the waters first.

@Island-woman No don’t cancel current provider just leave it active and download the PM phone app and activate . Leaving old providers sim in the phone you can transfer the number to PM by replying YES to the confirmation text old provider sends you . Once you have successfully ported number to Public mobile it will automatically close your old provider phone account

don't request porting number yet. Subscribe here with a new phone number and only port when you are ready
