Spotty mobile data

adityalaijawala

Hello,

I have a Moto G7 Power, and I am in Calgary. I recently dropped it in water and it went to the repair shop for a few days. I used a spare phone with the sim in the meantime. Now I put the sim back in my Moto G7 and the mobile data does not work when I am indoors or even sometimes outdoors. This website https://downdetector.ca/status/telus/map/ shows the network is having issues. But I want to make sure it's not my phone or my settings. I changed the APN settings as well, still have issues. Can someone guide me please? Thank you.

network on the spare phone was worse than this. But that I am sure was a phone issue. So no point in trying that. I am going to try using my girlfriend's spare Iphone with the sim, see if it works on that. If it doesn't, could it be that the sim might be the problem? And get I don't want to spend more money to fix a phone, which might not even get fixed. I'll just get a new one. I also reset my phone- the connection is still spotty, but not as much.

Thank you all for your inputs. Yes data worked fine before water damage. The network on the spare phone was worse than this. But that I am sure was a phone issue. So no point in trying that. Given what you said, that I highlighted in bold, I'd tend to think the obvious answer would be to put your SIM back in the spare phone, and see if the issue persists. If it works fine in the spare, but STILL not in the G7, then it would seem that the G7 may have sustained some damage that the repair guy overlooked.

Phone may be beyond repair. Have it looked at again.

If you know that your phone needed repair and has stopped working due to water damage, more likely than not, the problem is because of that damage.  Try your sim card in a known working compatible phone.

Sounds like the phone has PTSD.  The repair was probably unsuccessful.

So before accident, PM data worked on you phone, correct? Only after repair it stopped?
