Last month I moved 3 of my lines to Public mobile 5G plan and I live in Winnipeg.MB. Plan says upto 20Mbps, but all of my downllad speed tests have been 5 to 15Mbps for download and surprisingly 20Mbps for uploads. I have done multiple tests in different part of city and I got pretty well same results.
Our all 3 devices are pretty mordern.
Sometimes it becomes impossible to browse or watch reels. Is this what everyone else is experiencing?
If this is the case, why buy 5G over 3G or 4G plans?

Sunny St. James, no issues with speed as it relates to usage. I have done the odd speed test, well above 100 mbits/s, but not butting up against the 250 mbits/s cap for a 5G speed plan.

This is not improving any. Yesterday I was at Polo Park mall and it was about the same. It gets a job done, but I expected somewhat better. My other phone is iPhone 13 and very similar results.
Take a peek at the top right corner of the page. I sent you a private message. 🙂

what phone you have?
and you could get the same max 5G speed on the 4G network. So, try 4G as well

Hey @JaiP
St. Vital here.... it kind of depends on what area you're in as well and how close to towers you may be. I myself am super close to a tower though and on 4G. I just did a test and got 108 Mbps download speeds while getting 9.52 Mbps upload speeds. Which is pretty good actually. There are a few more factors like how long your phone has been on for. Sometimes a reboot every few days doesn't here that I found. Oh, and when using the Speedtest app, I chose BellMTS as my connection to test.
EDIT: I should mention I am using an iPhone XS
I just did a speedtest on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and it's on a 5G Telus plan and I got 244 Mbps down and 55.9 Mbps up... using Shaw as my connection point.
Just did another test with my Pro Max on Telus and connected to Bell Canada and got 284 Mbps download and 77.6 Mbps upload

The 3g, 4g, and 5g plan marketing is only about he maximum speed that Public Mobile sets data speeed limit to. Public Mobile isn't charging significantly more for plans at the higher speeds, but instead rather charging mainly for more data in the higher priced plans. Data speeds can vary greatly from location to location.
