Small plans for current subscribers

I’m on the old $25 plan with 1gb data. I’d like to get the ‘new subscriber only’ offer that’s the same calling plan but with 3gb data for $21. Why isn’t that available for current customers? I just don’t need to jump up to 50gb data. Wish there were better in-between offers for longtime customers.

Yes good idea. Fingers crossed.

Agreed!

Yes you’re probably right that switching to the $19 plan is a good enough solution for the moment. I’ll just have to keep my eyes open for something that’s not too much more expensive for a little more data.

There is huge backlog of service requests.

In addition to the typical load of activation problems by new subscribers as a result of recent promotions, lots of current subscribers are complaining about the conversion from legacy rewards to points rewards and the loss of bonus data when they downgraded.

I understand why there is a delay. I wish they would at least acknowledge my requests and give me a an estimate of when they may be able to deal with them.

Back in January, customer service was able to switch me to a boxing week "new activation only" deal within a day of my private message.

That's not an acceptable reason .... is it??

I am in week 4 waiting for a response. And I know what will happen. They won't review the request and ask me to re submit it.

That fix and the conversion to the new rewards does not bide well with me and am ready to leave. The only thing that might keep me here is being able to change to the $21/19 plan and the residual referrals that I have. The $21/19 plan is an easy fix....take the restrictions off of it. Sure there will be downgrading but I think they will get some of the old $15 plans customers off the 3G plan.

  • The 19$/month plan seems like a good deal to me, but like @Yummy said, you'd have to port out to another carrier and come back a month later to take advantage of plans that are offered to new customers only.  They're offering E SIMs now so you can avoid purchasing unnecessary physical SIM cards

I would not be so brave to wait a month as PM can change plans whenever it suits them so customer can be left stranded without plan he/she wants.
Better idea will be to Open brand new plan, lose current number and suspend current plan (to avoid paying for it) IF plan for 'new' customers is so desirable.

I wish PM would stop playing these games and keep plans as introduced for at least 6-8 months AND introduce new if needed.

I feel the same as you about the unavailability of the $21/$19 4G 3GB plan for current subscribers. Two weeks ago, I submitted a private message to customer service asking if they could change me to that plan as well as deal with the loss of the 240 GB bonus data. Frustratingly, I have not received any response to my messages.

Nevertheless, $19 1GB plan is a good deal if you are currently on the $25 1 GB plan.

Any thoughts on why no response?

NO! The $21/$19 has good appeal for specific customers.

And not interested in a “bait and switch” like suggestion.

@Alicat27  @SeniorCitizen

Have you considered the $19 4G 1GB plan which is currently available to current subscribers? Open your account and click change subscription to find this plan. This plan is not available for new subscribers.

You get the same amount of data per month at much faster speed and at $6 lower price. The net result will be that your monthly payments will effectively be less than before even with the loss of loyalty rewards (i.e. $5 per month if you have been a customer for 5 or more years).

PS. Do not cancel your current subscription if you have any referrals because you will lose those with a new subscription.

Good luck.

Sometimes they eventually open them up to everyone. Wait a bit and see if you can, they are always changing their offers.

@Alicat27

Yes, I too would like to upgrade to this plan mentioned.
I don’t get why a plan is only offered to a targeted group and not to an existing and “loyal” customer.

HI @Alicat27

yes, mobile carriers like to offer only new activation plans for getting more accounts.  Existing customers cannot get that, but you can wait, they might let everyone get that later

for now, you might want to change your plan to $19-1GB first.  Same plan, cheaper and 4G speed.  Login to My Account, click Change Subscription
