My sim is not getting detected by my phone. Public mobile sucks !
Everytime I restart it, it shows up public mobile but then goes away after a few secs. The number in my phone also has changed

How long did you have this phone and how long are you PM customer?
If you got your phone second-hand could be that that person does not like you very much and (s)he blacklisted it - reported stolen?
Check here:
https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/
To determine if a device has been reported lost or stolen, which would prevent it from working on Canadian wireless networks, enter the 15 digit IMEI number in the window below and click enter.
You can obtain the IMEI number by entering *#06# on most devices. Alternatively, the IMEI number should also be on a white label found underneath the battery of your device.

Was your phone working with other SIMs or try the PM SIM in another phone to see if it works. If it does then there is a problem with you phone being locked/Blacklisted.

Do you have another phone you can test the SIM card in, to make sure there is no account/SIM issue?
Can you log into your Self Serve account and ensure your account is ACTIVE.
Under the "Plan and Addons" TAB make sure the phone number listed there is the number you expect it to be.
If it is, great.
Perhaps you have an iPhone and need to deregister the number that is listed on the phone you have?
Deregister here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/
You can also try to perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings. See if that helps.
