Been with Public Mobile for about 6 years now. Yeah, it's an old sim card. 5G was unheard of back when I purchased this sim. If I move from my 4G plan to a 5G plan with Public Mobile (granted I need a 5G phone as well) do I need a new sim card or will in fact my present sim card allow me to access and take full advantage of the 5G data speed?

Just think of your old SIM as an account and everything is stored in the SIM.
If you change your plan (3G>4G>5G) it will change in your SIM.

hi @simpleman the same sim card will work with 5G plan.
and you don't really need a 5G phone. The 5G plan is about speed. you can have a 5G plan ,access the 4G LTE network and get a speed promised on the 5G plan, like 200+ mbps

SIM has nothing to do with speed (G). You can continue using existing one and switch to 4/5G at any time.

@simpleman No you don’t need a new sim card for 5G plan , your current SIM card will do the trick
