I've been a PM user since Dec 6, 2021, so am currently only getting the $2 autopay reward. I have been on the $25/1GB/3G plan and just signed up to switch to the new $40/15GB/4G plan at my next renewal date on Nov 29. While it seems the community is saying it's always better to stay with the old rewards system than switch to points, I'm still wondering if in my situation it would be better to switch with the 3x points offer.
Right now I'm getting $2 off per month, increasing to $3 off per month on my anniversary date in December. But seems like with 3x points, I'd be getting the equivalent of $6 off per month in points right away. I understand I do have to wait until I get 15 points to redeem, but I'm just looking at the monthly value for comparison sake.
Another important clarification I'd need would be if the 3x points offer expires at any point with the new plan. I haven't seen any * or footnotes claiming this might be the case, so I'm led to believe I might hopefully receive 3x points as long as I stay with this plan.
Would anyone be able to advise whether I should switch to points or let me know if there's anything I'm missing that would lead me to stay with the old rewards system?
Thanks so much!

One thing I didn't see in the replies above:
Switching to points is a one-way street - you can NOT go back to the old rewards program once you have switched. Plenty of examples of people regretting switching to be found on this board.
Edited to add that you can change plans (in most cases change at next renewal is the way to go, take a screenshot as you schedule it) without changing to the new reward points.

Good things come to those that wait. Soon I will be hitting 5 years with PM, which means I will get $5 off my bill every 30 days, plus the $2 for Auto-pay. Ignoring any referrals (which are $1 each), that is about $85.17 in rewards per year. If we look at the points, it is 10 points every 12 months (anniversary gift) and 5% in points based on your plan cost. If we assume the current $40 deal is yours, then that would be 2 points every 30 days (24 a year). That works out to 34 points a year. Which is $34. As you can see, I get three times the rewards in the same period.
(A year with PM is approximately 12.16667 pay cycles). Even with you coming up on your 1 year ($1 Anniversary per 30 days + $2 for auto pay), that is $36.50 which already beats the 34 points.
I believe the 3x as others have said is for new people only, and I am not sure if you would get the bonus 10% points on top of the 5% or if that is also for new clients. Either way, long run old system is still better... unless you are one of the large plans, then maybe the points system is okay, but still kind of pointless.

3x points is not for current customers and it could be for a limited time only.
I would stay with rewards and try to get some referrals to increase your rewards.

@purplepenguin27 , the 3x points is only for new activations. You would have to create a new account to get the bonus points. Note that the legacy rewards system you are on is way better than the points rewards system. Stay patient, you are nearing an anniversary, you will be getting $1 loyalty soon.

@purplepenguin27 NO!! No to Public points!!
that was a typo, I think. I think 3x Points only for new activation,. You might not get it if you migrate to Public Point
Even you can it it, it is more advantageous to stay with old rewards mainly for the Loyalty Reward. You will soon get $1 discount per cycle, after your completion of 1 years here. Thn it will increase to $2/cycle after completion of 2nd years, and eventually $3, $4 and $5 per cycle. Those loyalty rewards are a lot better
But changing to $40 for 15GB is a good deal. Make sure you use Change Plan on next renewal if you are no rush for the extra data
