Shipping of SIM card Delayed

MichaelOS1

I placed my order in Tuesday for a physical SIM card, and it said shipping would take two business days. Now, after the order is processed, the expected delivery has changed from two business days to August 29, which is over seven business days. Why were so many days added to the delivery? I needed the SIM card ASAP.

Interesting.  I though that CSAs had activated eSIM in the past for customers who ordered physical SIM card and then changed their mind and wanted eSIM instead because of delay in shipping of physical SIM card.

Have you downloaded the PM app on your new phone?  Then continue with the activation process.

In general, Public mobile does not offer refunds since prepaid, but CSA do offer exceptions at times.  If you need your plan right away, physical store is one option.

Thanks Dunkman, unfournately I've just followed up with them but I got this reply

Thank you for your message

The only way to get an eSim is through the application

In this case, we are going to wait for the sim to be delivered

Next, I'm now debating between canceling the current plan and buying a new plan with eSIM vs going to a physical store.

@MichaelOS1

You will need customer service agent help to complete the eSIM activation.

Hi all, I have now received my new phone and am attempting to install an eSIM. Unfournately I am blocked on installing the eSIM since I haven't received the physical SIM card yet, and public mobile blocks me from accessing the account. If anyone has an idea on how to overcome this, let me know!

Thanks @Andy85, really appreciate that idea. I'm currently waiting to check if the new phone is eSIM compatible, and if not I'll proceed with the physical store option. Thank you!

Hi @MichaelOS1,

Delivery times can vary. When ordering straight from Public Mobile, they can be a little more lengthy compared to other options. Seeing as you need a SIM asap, have you considered the eSIM option. An eSIM can be downloaded instantly through the Public Mobile App and that would permit you to use your Public Mobile service quicker!

If you absolutely need a physical SIM card immediately, you can pick up a physical SIM card from a nearby store. To find out which stores near you sell physical SIM cards, you can go to https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/qc/pick-up-SIM and enter our postal code. The site will then suggest you stores closest to you that sell SIM cards.

As the SIM card was ordered within the past 2 days, there hasn't been any delay that would prompt a customer support agent to send another SIM card.  SIM card orders are final, but even if I customer support agent is able to cancel the order, that can only be done if it hasn't already been shipped (which it probably already has been).

I see. There is nothing confusing about it, it's simply false marketing and the order page should clarify these details. How do I cancel my order?

Sorry, but shipping doesn't usually take only 2 business days. I agree that the 2 business day declaration is confusing, but this is only mean to say that the SIM card will be sent within 2 business days.  You'll have to add the shipping time on top of that.  Public Mobiel asks cusotmers to wait 10 business days for arrival.
