"SIM NOT SUPPORTED" and "INVALID SIM" mean that, whatever you were told, whatever you may believe, your unlocked iPhone is in fact a carrier-locked or region-locked iPhone.
It will only work with SIM cards issued by the carrier which originally sold it new (and which locked it). Unless you can get it unlocked.

Try sim in another “for sure” unlocked phone.
If you have iTunes on a computer attach phone by USB cable to computer and run a full reset on phone. The very last screen will say “Congratulations Your IPhone is Unlocked” if no message....is carrier locked.

@SKhosa do not just trust that is has been unlocked, check to confirm,
- Open the Settings app on the iPhone in question.
- Scroll down and tap General.
- Tap About.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for Carrier Lock. If it says No SIM restrictions, then your iPhone is unlocked and you're free to use any carrier or cell service.
If it shows it is locked, you should check with the provider you got the phone from and ask them to help unlocking it

@SKhosa - try some troubleshooting below:
- restarting your phone
- open up the SIM card tray, remove the SIM, replace it, then close the SIM card tray
- perform a reset of the network settings
If still issues, make sure the SIM works in another phone..since that can usually show up on a locked phone.

@SKhosa What kind of iPhone is that? Which provider you got it from ? or which provider it was used before and was working well? You have to contact the provider where you got the iPhone from to have them arrange for unlock
