Retrieving phone number attached to my deactivated account

ayeremi
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi there,

I was out of the country and had my account deactivated after 90 days. I have now returned and setup a new account with Public mobile. I have a new phone number active and would like to change it back to my old phone number that was with Public Mobile. Can a moderator please give me a hand with this?

Highly unlikely you will be able to get your old number back.

You can always try to ask agent for assistance particularly IF your old number was from Telus family. If number is not reassigned and you come across sympathetic agent you might be in luck. It does not hurt trying.

- Use the ticketing system for a faster response time (preferred method as Ticket is assigned and easy to follow up with CSA). Click Chatbot - Ticket and type ticket, then click on Contact Us, then click on issue you inquire about. Link for creating ticket will be presented. If ticketing does not work very fist time do the below.

- Send a private message to the CSA - agent by clicking Here

In either case watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.

If the number did not come from here or Telus or Koodo then you would need to go to the original provider to try to reclaim it. If you wouldn't mind indicating the province and area of the number then please share the first 6 digits and we can figure out where the number originated.

Nope...after 90 days your old plan is deactivated and the phone number is lost. If the old number was originally a Public Mobile or Telus number, there's a chance that you can retrieve it but you need CSA assistance. Top of page click Get Help / Chat with Simon to start the process of CSA help. Watch the envelop icon on top right side of page will be highlighted when they respond.
