Reception in South Surrey/White Rock

Is it just me or is the reception pretty bad out in South Surrey? I have 1 bar at home, and then when I’m out it moves up to 3 but it’s a total dead zone (no data, phone calls go in and out, texts don’t send) down 24th ave from Croydon Dr to 152 and down to 20th ave.. it’s soo frustrating and annoying. I have an iPhone 13 if that matters. /rant.

My close friend lives near the Home Depot on 24 Avenue so I know what you mean so I set my iPhone to 5G Auto.

I do have 5g.. I checked out the link, there aren’t any towers nearby, that explains it. Thank you!!

That’s strange, everytime I’m in that area I get no data.. lol I catch a bus around there so I can’t even scroll thru any social media while waiting. I’ve tried switching to LTE but still nothing, can’t even make a proper phone call without being cut off

@ShawnC13 The plan is irrelevant; even 3G plans can connect to the 4G and 5G networks with a capable device. You are correct that if 5G reception is weak it may be better to force the phone into 4G/LTE.

I personally find that I get stronger and more consistent service on 4G. As for that area of South Surrey, I've never had issues, but I don't send a lot of time there either.

Not knowing the area, is your plan 5G and could there be low 5G service around the area? Below is a link to a site that has cell phone towers.  Find your area and see if there are towers near you.  If your plan in 5G try setting your network to LTE or 4G and see if the reception gets better.
