I recently ported over from Koodo to Public Mobile, and I cannot get RCS messages to work with google.
I have attempted all of Google's troubleshooting, as well as updating my APN on my phone. It continues to be stuck attempting to verify my phone number. I can send/receive texts and calls without issues, but the RCS is not working with google messages.

Thanks Softech. I just ported my two numbers yesterday and was wondering if there was any delay. I will waint and see if RCS starts working after a week.

This worked for me after my port from koodo with pixel 6. 1) Uninstall the messages app. This will remove all updates. You should now be able to verify your number. 2) Update the message app, RCS will remain active.

Thank you for the information. I will continue to monitor this for a week and reply back here on Monday, March 11th if there has been no update to Google RCS messages working.

First, do you receive any incoming calls and regular SMS (P2P) from friends? If so, it is good, at least the porting was completed successfully
For 2FA text or other system generated text (A2P), it is normal for them to start coming later. Systems take longer to find out you changed provider and to route the text correctly to the new provider (Public Mobile). Also, financial institutions (banks) or government agencies (e.g, CRA) put this delay on purpose too to avoid SIM Fraud
Usually they will start coming around the 3rd day after porting but it could take as many as 7 days for all the 2FA/A2P text to come.
