I don't see any way on PM website to pay with my RBC bank/debit card (it is not a Visa card, it is not a master card, it's just a bank card).

This isn't a Public Mobile issue. You can't use a debit card on any online site to make a purchase or pay a bill. All you can use a regular debit card for is in-store point of sale purchases and ATM withdrawals. You need a Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, some MasterCard debit, AMEX etc. Basically a credit card or a debit card that has credit card (ish) functionality.

@AngryCUSTOMER96 , I am not sure if I missed one of your posts but when RBC gave me my regular Debit Bank Card then also gave me a Virtual Visa Debit Card that they mailed to me (a physical plastic card) with a CVV on the back of it. Expiration date on the front of the card. Please ask them for one. It works perfectly for online shopping. 🙂

Edit: As per the link @computergeek541 gave you -> “RBC Virtual Visa Debit” this is what RBC gave me for online shopping.

Virtual but plastic , not very environmental friendly still  🤣

And I thought all bank cards are now Visa Debit or MC Debit, I guess I was wrong

@hTideGnow , ironic isn’t it? 😆

RBC is a bit behind times! 🤣

but you NEED a visa debit card. the RBC client card is NOT the card you need. The bank staff are not always very clued in about this - some are, but in my recent experience, some are not.  PM will accept a RBC VISA Debit card, I have used it for three accounts yesterday.  The people I am working with have not had any luck with the online access to the accounts, for paying bills. The PM payment site requires a CVV number with its card info, and the online access to the bank account just does not have this.

Virtual Visa Debit cards do have a CVV.  However, RBC mails this code.

HI @AngryCUSTOMER96

PM is using a different support model

So, your debit card does not have a visa logo on it?  I thought most debit card are Visa or MC debit card

you can ask RBC to get you a visa debit, or you can use a prepaid visa card

You can also just use a voucher to pay.

By default, at least from the RBC Client Cards that I have seen (including mine), don't have the option. RBC does offer a virtual option for Visa Debit.

I tried VERY HARD to specify that this is NOT A VISA CARD... REALLY SORRY you missed that part.

Please see my earlier post.  RBC will provide an electronic version of a Visa Debit to any banking customer.

HI @AngryCUSTOMER96

i didn't miss that, you said "it is not a Visa card, it is not a master card", i thought you just meant it is NOT an RBC Visa, Visa debit is different

When it comes to paying by Visa Debit that hTideGnow mentioend, instructions are provided on the RBC website how to immediately activate this option.  You'll need to use the RBC Mobile banking app.  Please see details at:  https://www.rbcroyalbank.com/banking-services/virtual-visa-debit/index.html

It amazes me that I stay with this company. My wife and I have been looking for that answer for several hours. One sentence from a live person solved everything in under 3 minutes, but pm refuses to hire customer service agents.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @AngryCUSTOMER96

you can pay by RBC Visa Debit card.  You just enter it like a credit card and fill in the information.

did you get any error ?

Because you can't make payments with a standard debit card. Only Visa Debit and some Mastercard Debit.
