Purpose of holiday give away data add on

Hi

I have two holiday data add ons in my account.  One is for 1g and the other for 2g.

Is the purpose of this data so that it can be used if your regular monthly data runs out?  I rarely get near running out of my regular 1g monthly data, but am getting close this month so wonder if the add on data will "kick in" so I don't get penalized for going over my 1 g  monthly data.  Thank you.

@Ferret , I should clarify that this prepaid service is not anything like a pay as you go service where the account is debited dynamically for usage.  You actually have to take manual action to buy an add-on when included usage is consumed.  The system will not take funds from the account and do an auto purchase of add-ons.  The only thing that has auto renewal capability is the 30 day plan.  The setup is very wallet friendly.

yes, you are right.. it will only kicks in when your monthly limit is maxed out.  

any unused portion of these addon will stay in your account until they are all used up

The data add-ons will work once your regular plan data reaches its limit. Any unused data add-ons will roll over until you do use them...even if that takes several months or longer.

@Ferret  You're never overcharged if you do run out of data and didn't have an add-on. PM is prepaid in advance and there are never overcharges.

Yes you're correct. If you run out of plan data the data add-on will kick in and you can use that until your plan renews and you get plan data back. Then anything left on the add-on will sit in the background until next time it is needed. It will stay in your account until all used up.

Some people like myself that have accumulated alot of freebies. Lower their plan. To a lower cost plan to use the add-ons.
