For the past few months public mobile speeds on there 4g plan has been terrible.
Anyone else experiencing this? This using both Android and iPhone.
Are they pushing people to upgrade to newer plans with 5g?
I've been consistently getting around 20-30mbps and some days it's as low as 3mbps. As far as I know 4g speed should be a bit closer to 100mbps I mean even if I got 60mbps I'd be ok.

The 5g speed has the same issues. Its clocking at around 30 Mbps on average. 9 Mbps, 2 min ago.....
I live in Sherbrooke Québec, a 200 000 population city

@pb123456789 the 4G plan is mainly for speed , max at 100Mbps. Same with the 5G plan, is about speed, max at 200Mbps
even with the 4G plan, you can still use the 5G network. In fact, if your phone has 5G and is set to network mode Auto, you might be using the 5G network already
so, the speed issue is just a local network issue, nothing to do with PM doing it on purpose to try to push you to 5G plan or not.
if you have trouble with speed, try Reset network settings. If that does not work, check your phone and change to different network mode and test, and test at different location

Switching to a 5G speed plan would only change the maximum speed limit and nothing else about the connection. Unlike 5G itself 5G speed is simply a marketing term for the limit and won't make a difference in a scenario where you're not hitting the speed cap.

LTE speeds are working just fine with my iPhone 15 Pro Max on the BC coast — even though I do have a 5G CA-US-MX plan
