Greetings,
I have an old Rogers Hub (ZTE MF275R) that I'd like to start using again when we're at the cottage. Does anyone know if Public Mobile will work with these devices? Do you need a "special" plan for something like this, or will a regular phone/data plan work? Any special settings required for internet routing on these hubs?
Thanks,
Bill

hi @BillD7 you really have to test to confirm. From what we understand, PM does not throttle speed because of use on other devices or hotspot. Also, you need to test to see if your unit is locked

Has anyone had any issues getting decent speeds on these with Public Mobile? With Rogers, when I had a dedicated SIM purchased for that device, I was getting 40+ Mbps. However, the next summer when I used it, I just moved my cell phone SIM over, and I could only get 4 or 5 Mbps. They told me those SIM cards were not provisioned for the ZTE. Just a scam to make me spend more $$ on a dedicated SIM, I'm sure, but I was wondering if people got decent speeds with Public Mobile on these devices. (I know, it will depend on coverage area).

@BillD7 , these hardware tend to be carrier locked. You might need to have it unlocked first.

It should work and there is no special plan.
You may need to activate the SIM card in your phone first via the app and then transfer to the Hub.
Here are a few posts:
Depending on what you are needing at cottage for internet services, it may be better to get a home wireless internet plan offered by various mobile companies instead.
