Has anyone else noticed slower (or non existent) data speeds? I've been with Public Mobile for years and years and never had issues like I have had in the last 6 months or so. My plan has 50gb 5G speed and I've never gone over the 50gb so shouldn't be seeing any reduced speeds. Not sure if it's a current common issue or if there's something wrong with my phone? Admittedly, I live in Newfoundland Canada which has a lot of rural areas but these issues are happening in the city.
I've started to resort to not using the data at all and wait until I'm on WiFi to maintain my sanity.

LoL. Of course I tried and saw the difference. Why would people offer help without knowing what they said?
A Reset Settings is try to clear the settings that might have set wrong.
And example is that one might have set the network mode to 3G by accident, a reset could change it back to Automatic and the phone can then use 5G
This is a bit of a stretch lol. It might a potential solution if it was a connectivity problem and not poor network performance.

and @edsou , to assure you don't get interruption in that lookup, check if you used Private DNS
Also, some people use VPN, like those Public VPN, that would slow down the speed too
I would say those who use private DNS and VPN know better enough to troubleshoot their own problems and not have to rely on the community. I think it is fair the question relates to general network functionality and performance.

My 5G is good. Check your DNS, are you getting default DNS or using your own one. Change it
and test 4G , it can well as well as 5G
DNS is simply a IP lookup function. How does that improve speed tests?
It doesn't improve speed test results. Once the site is found, you've already been connected. A speed test doesn't start until after you've been directed to the site. The numbers would be the same no matter which DNS was used. A bad DNS can cause delays reaching a website but that's not related to speed tests.

what speed is that? use a speed test and check. And check at multiple locations
Try also Reset Network Settings and test again

I ran a speed test (using iPhone 15 Pro Max) just for fun this morning in downtown Vancouver and it seems to be delivering 250Mbps down — but to be expected as Vancouver is home to Telus HQ
