I let my account lapse by more than 90
days. I just ordered a new SIM card and need to activate it and start a new plan, but I’m wondering if there’s any way for my husband and I to find out if our old public mobile phone numbers are still available?

The number belongs to Telus (or Public) so maybe it could be recovered if someone hasn't taken it yet. You would need to ask support really nicely that you would like to get it back after you've activated a new account. They have no obligation to. Be nice.

Have them check the number, if it originally belonged to Telus/Koodo/Public and is not currently in use, then there's a good chance they'll be able to reactivate your account with that number.

Call the number. If someone answers then obviously no. The next question is where did the number originate? Can you share the first 6 digits? (not the last 4)
