Hi there, I am waiting a while to port in my number from iPlum (a virtual carrier). I've already set up and unlocked the number on their side, and paid for the port out. I contacted their support 4 hours ago and they advised no port request has been made from my new carrier (Public Mobile). How much longer should I wait?

Thanks for escalating! The client is already in contact with an agent.

When I try to text out from my Public Mobile email, it won't go externally. So I guess I will wait another day or two.
Any reason why they take several days? Is it just general administrivia?
That's usual behavior for number porting.
As for number porting potentially taking days, landline and VoIP number transfer have always just generally just taken longer due to the way that the transfer processes have been setup. I suspect that it might not be automated the way that wireless to wireless transfers are.

Number porting from VoIP providers often takes several days to complete. It's only number porting from one wireless carrier to another that usually completes within a few hours.
