- Purchase an PM SIM from a Telus/Koodo store or from Amazon
- Your old account from the other carrier must be active so keep up with payment
- Once you receive your SIM, download PM app and subscribe to a plan
- With the old SIM in the phone, wait for the text from your old carrier confirming with YES that you are porting over to PM. You have 90 minutes to reply or else…trouble
- You old SIM will continue to work for about another 90 minutes
- Once the old SIM stopped working. Power off the phone and swap to the PM SIM and power on the phone
Welcome to PM!
Simple as that as long as you follow it to a “T”.

Here's something to help if you need it.
How to port number from “Blank” to Public Mobile
First, make sure your number can be ported by checking on this link
https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/default.do
Or log in to your Public Mobile account
Then on your right side you’ll see this box. Click on Transfer Phone Number.
Then enter the number you want transfer and continue to next step
NOTE: Keep your old providers SIM card inside the phone until you get the confirmation text. Say YES. But wait just a bit longer until you no longer see your old provider's name up top. Once it’s gone, try making a call to test. If you can not make a call using your old providers SIM, the transfer has gone through.

Hi @Modin
First, click on this link to make sure you can port your number.
https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/default.do
Then if you can, once you sign up at Public Mobile, you'll get a temporary number. Then you can port over your number from wherever. You just have to make sure you keep your SIM from the other provider in your phone till you get a port request from them and say YES. Once you see the providers name disappear from the top of your phone, then make a test call to see if you can. If not, the port is complete.

Which way? In or out? Both accounts have to be active (except if moving between Telus/Koodo/Public). You leave the old sim in a phone to confirm the transfer.

Are you making a brand new account or do you already have an account with a phone number? If you are a brand new account when you go through the signup process on the app, after selecting your plan and SIM card (either E-SIM or I recommend doing this once you have a physical sim in hand), then you will be given the option to select a number or port one.
If you already have an account with a number, in your profile section there is an option to Transfer a number.
Things to remember are you will need the account from the previous provider to still be active, keep the old provider SIM in your phone to reply yes to a text authorizing the port, and use your previous provider account number during the port
