New subscriber. Should I first get a PM subscription plan and PM eSIM number before doing a port from Rogers (corporate) account .. OR .. I can do all this in a single step by starting with a port request? I want to use PM number on a separate phone (hardware).

Thanks for the suggestions. I will get a temporary number before doing port request. And my Rogers corporate account is active and ready to be ported.

Hey @rajeshk
I myself ported from Rogers Corp years ago and found that creating a Public Mobile account first and getting a temporary number to make sure I could make and take calls first was important. Plus I made sure texting back and forth along with my data worked first before tempting to port over. Then after a week I knew things worked and I ported over. Myself, because it was an EPP plan and it was mine, I was able to go into my account and port over the number with ease. Just make sure your account over at Rogers is still active. Also, in case the corp account is not in your name, you will need permission to port over which entails a letter of authorization forwarded to Rogers Corp to place on your account so when the port request comes through, they'll be prepared to port.

HI @rajeshk
for porting from Corporate account, usually it is better to request porting After the PM account is activated, less trouble
Please check with your office to confirm that marked your account as allow to port out first. Also, ask if they can provide the account number, it is easier to request porting with account number

@rajeshk You can do it either way at time of activation or after activation , but first thing you should do is
Check to see if # can be ported
