Plans not available to current customers

I was shopping for a new plan for my daughter and saw a plan that would work better for me.  When I went into my account, that plan is not available as an option.  Why are new customers getting better plans that are not an option for current customers?

You will be wasting your time. Other members have tried and got rejected.

To get new activation only plan, you may need to port out to another provider, then port back in as a new customer.

Those plans are for new activations only. Customer service will more than likely refuse to give them to you, especially if it's cheaper than what you're currently paying.

@AimMcH, easiest way to click on the orange round circle in the bottom right of your screen

This is purely a business decisions, likely being a way to drive the sign up of additional new customers.
