A few things I would recommend when doing this:
- Some report better success when doing these self-serve tasks on a desktop or laptop device
- Make sure to select the proper plan, then take a screenshot of the change that you have just scheduled.
- Log out of the self-serve site, then log back in again to make sure the pending plan change is exactly as you expect it to be (some have reported when moving to the $40 - 15 gigabyte plan, the system arbitrarily selects the $40 - 5 gigabyte plan)
- if it is the correct planned, just leave it, and it will renew on your next renewal
- If it isn’t the plan you just scheduled, cancel it and try again to schedule the plan change
The above options are being offered, because I, personally, tried to switch one of my folks and experienced that very same issue.

@Rosaignelzi simply login to My Account, go to Plan and Add-on page, click Change My plan
https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/en/account/plan/change-plan
There, select your new plan from the 3G or 4G plans tab
Make sure you understand the difference between Change plan now vs Change plan on renewal date. Most people chose Change plan on renew date to save money
