Plan Duration

A family member is considering joining Public Mobile and is considering the $40 15GB 4G plan.  Does anyone know if this pricing is only for a specific timeframe?  Does it change after a period of time or is it locked in until they change the plan?  We can't tell from the ad.

@TrevorBurridge

There are no contact with PM and I have been on the same plan for over 2 years and no change in fee not like my previous carrier Chatr that raised my fees.

As longer members here pointed out an old $10 plan was raised to $13 about a year ago…this was a super old plan.

Since the $40 for 15gb is a promo, there are no telling when it will expire so best that your friend jump on this promo.

In principle, Public Mobile can change any plan on any customer with 30 day notice.  In practice, plan changes are rare.  So far I have only seen a $10 plan go to $13.  I would say you can shop with confidence that the plan you select will remain for as long as you want it to.  Note that over time plan generally get better more, usage for the same money.

The $10 plan was offered with the old rewards system which is very generate program.  The autopay reward $2/m + loyalty $1/yr with PM up to max $5/yr.  Subscribers on the old reward system will get $7/m off their plan for doing nothing for staying with PM for 5 years.  I manage four $10 plans for my family members.  I cannot find any plan less than $6/m with 50 call minutes and 1 cent/min ($5 500 minutes add-on).

Any mobile service provider can change the price point of any plan with the required regulated notice.

The good thing about mobile service plans, however, is that prices for data plans have been consistently dropping in the last several years to keep up with demand and worldwide pricing, so while you can remain confident it won't change, it's no guarantee.

The same would go for any mobile service provider you're with.

$40/15GB is current plan (for current and new customers). There is no time frame for this plan but looking at what New customers see on PM site it is current 'promo' ($60 = $40). Current customers do not see strike out $60?

Suggestion is - if you want $40/15GB get is Now. Plan will not change later to higher price as it is not limited time promo.

There doesn’t appear to be any timeframe on this, as far as I know, once you are signed up, that is your rate.  It is such a better deal than most wireless providers out there.  I just joined and my spouse will be joining.  It is going to save us a lot of money, which we all need right now!

It doesn't seem to be a limited offer - I switched to this plan and am happy with it. However I question if the 4G speed is actually faster then the 3G . I have found no noticeable speed improvement when I sent pictures and videos.

@TrevorBurridge , if you are referring to the promo period, this deal can disappear any time.  That said, if you activate an account and take on this plan, you will be grandfathered to the plan regardless of whether it will continue to be offered or not.
