However when my monthly data runs out I can not sent or receive pictures without data. I did read past posts on this subject and have followed advise such as to check APN settings etc but nothing works - My APN setting is asp.mb.com - is that correct?

There does not appear to be a "wine" community account. The info you recieved was incorrect.
Edit:
Maybe it's coffee break time?

Yes I did ask friends and family members if they use this forum. The only family member also on this forum is Beer who initially did also setup my (Milk) account. I can’t find the wine account so that I may see their posts and maybe private message. In the search bar I tried typing wine and @wine but nothing happens. How does one search other members?

If it's true that you're in the same household as the other users then use the forgot username/password link and try email addresses. Check those emails and see if the password reset arrives.

You say that wine is one of my accounts -- can you please give me or tell me how to get it's password so that I may check it out.

@Milk, it has long been known and admitted by Beer, that Beer, Wine and Milk are all the same account holders/ or family. There are other users that have been linke and I think Tsawwassen is one and not sure if there are others. It doesn't matter if you post as them in them in the community but to give them the solution is frowned upon and considered gaming. There is no need for the solution when in fact this is a family member that you could have asked within your household or even if they didn't live in your house.
As stated Oracles do not have access to IP addresses so there is no way we can look at them to compare.

I do not have access to your IP addreess. However, as rewards are based partially on solutions, it isn't fair to everyone to give solutions to yourself, to your other accounts, or to family members who are possibly in the next room.

Data speed shouldn't affect sending/recieving MMS. Go to your messaging app in your Settings>> Apps>>Messages (not iMessage) >>Storage and clear the app cache. Try sending an MMS text and see if it improves the timing. Forgive my instructions as I'm an Android user so getting to your messaging apps storage may be different.

Yes - I think that the problem is that my 3G plan is too slow - when I use iMessage pictures are almost immediately received and sent. I was expecting the same performance while sending / receiving by MMS. During my test earlier, pictures that I had sent and had sent to me were eventually delivered but many minutes later. Later tonight I plan to try out one of the 4G plans with plenty of data .

MMS does not require any account data to work. The bf runs out every single month and can still send MMS even the dumb ones that he thinks are funny. Don't give up....it's better that you learn how your iPhone works rather than pay to blissfully ignore your settings.

Your MMS will work once you turn off the iMessages option and you make sure the mobile data is on. this type of messages don't use MB.
I know your time is valuable, and I appreciate your attention.

It is up to you if you want to pay more. PM will thank you for your extra spending.
I have a PM plan without data and I have an iPhone 12. I am using the following settings and my iMessae app is showing blue and green bubbles.
Settings ==> Mesages ==> enable
1. Send as SMS +
2. MMS messaging +
3. Group Messaging
Enable cellular data.

The easiest thing is to turn on those options, turn off imessage, turn on cellular data, restart phone and try.
Or try in another phone to verify that having no data stops mms. Again, I doubt it.

There are many posts reporting this problem - just perhaps you have never been without any data.

Yes, iPhone iMessage is using mobile data to send and receive.
What is the color of the message you send/receive?
Blue bubble = using iMessage which use mobile data only
Green bubble = using MMS which uses a specific data server which is free and for MMS only.
If you are using Blue bubble, you need to enable SMS and MMS in the iMessage settings.

Unless this is a new thing from them, I doubt it. Have you restarted the phone? Can you try sending an mms from a different phone with your sim in it?
You would be the first that I can remember reading recently that this might be a thing. I doubt it.

Cellular data. Imessage has an option send as mms (also send as sms). Turn both on. But again cellular data needs to be on.

Thanks for help - can't find "turn on mobile data" on my iPhone 11 - tried sending a small picture by turning off iMessage and leaving MMS and still picture didn't sent.
04-03-2023 11:41 AM
Jeez imessage is crazy making.
But this could be a new thing. I doubt it. But could. For years it has been that mms would work even on plans with no data. Cell data just needs to be on.

HI @Milk
dont' get mixed up
you need to know if you are sending MMS or iMessage
with MMS , you have to turn on Mobile Data but it would not deduct your data. So, you just need to enable Mobile data and you can still send even you are out of data
with iMessage, you need mobile data and it will use data
So, if you already enabled data and you cannot send out due to all data used up, then you are sending iMessage. You just need to change it to MMS and you can send
04-03-2023 11:35 AM
It's an iPhone 11 -with latests IOS updates-- Pictures definitely do not sent without data - and only texts sent when data and wifi is turned off. It's always been like that. It's become a problem now because I completely ran out of data until of course my renewal date later this month. I asked a couple of my friends also on PM and they also confirmed that without data turned on picture messaging also does not work for them. Could this be a problem with PM? Now I"m will be forced to purchase a $15 + tax data on on - doesn't seem fair.
04-03-2023 11:32 AM
To use MMS your DATA has to be on even though data allowance will not be used.
Use native texting app, not 3rd party - proprietary app for SMS/MMS.

Is this an iphone? The apn should not have the 'a' in front.
But if browsing works then the apn should fine. Is there an mms apn settings area?

that apn looks correct.
