Why am I not allowed to send photos through text, I have an iphone 12 and I can only send photos through imessage? I can still receive photos from a non iphone uses My friend has another phone plan and they have no issues  with it.

@mltnez   Since you can receive photos I wonder if the settings are wrong in Messages.  Go to the settings and check Send and Receive, make sure starting new conversations from is set to your phone number and see if that works.

Check to see if SMS and MMS are enabled in the app's settings.

to send phone with MMS, not iMessage, you still need to have your mobile network turned on, even you are on Wifi

MMS uses mobile network to deliver, but it won't really consume your data usage
