So, have not had an issue with my plan on 3G data. Everything has worked fine and I have had no issues with the speed of 3G data. I get an email advising that data got better with 4G 30x faster. Since that email, I have had nothing but issues with my data, not loading, not allowing me to send or receive photos. Couldnt even log into PM.
I feel as though I am now being forced to change plans. My current plan is $50 with 10.5g+ an addition 5.5g in bonuses and promos along with unld calling in can and to the US. Now if I switch its $60 for 15g 4G (closes data to current) but NO MORE US calling and if I switch plans I loose all bonuses and promos.
Am I being forced to change my plan provider? I have been with PM for several yrs.
Can an admin please explain?

Im experiencing similar issues with my 3g plan now as well. The service has become noticably worse! Very unhappy about it right now.

That's not always the case. The customer wion't always be happier with the internet connection whiile on the HSPA network. I've found that while speeds used to be much better on the HSPA network, I find this network to now be unreliable and almost unusable for data.

Glad to hear, was going to say that I hadn't noticed a difference, in fact it seemed to be performing better than it did in the past, but I probably just jinxed myself 😕

I have also noticed that my data speeds are not what they used to be. Can't believe that PM is purposely throttling down speeds.

@bondmi...
Excellent trouble-shooting skills. 👍
Good info for us to know in case others have similar experience.

Thank you all for your comments... did a little more troubleshooting and found that for some reason the APN deleted and changed to phone default.
I have reset the APN to PM and will see if it gets back to normal.

90% of the time it is in LTE.
I know how to troubleshoot and have gone through everything... i just find it very much a coincidence that this literally occurred after I was asked to upgrade to 4G data plan.
As for losing the bonuses... when I looked into changing this plan there is a BIG notice that I will lose ALL current promotions and bonuses.

Shouldnt have to add on anything as I already have. Nothing has changed in the area I use the phone/service and it was the same issues from Windsor to Oshawa.

HI @bondmi My speed in fact is the same.
If you want, try to change it to 3G Only (some device calls it WCDMA Only or HSPA Only). You can get better speed , like 12Mpbs, compare with the capped 3Mpbs on LTE

I did not experience any slowdown in data speed.
It could be temporary outage or too many people in your area on the same network.
I doubt PM will on purpose slow down 3G in order to force people to switch to 4G.

Sorry to hear your troubles. There is no deliberate attempt from Public mobile to slow down 3G speeds. It might be a temporary issue in your area.
Are you normally connected to LTE or 3G? LTE connection should be capped to 3 Mbps, while manually selection of 3G network has not cap. You might want to try connecting manually to 3G to see whether that makes a difference. Then try connecting to LTE. Which one works better?
You could also try rebooting phone. Network reset of phone. Try the SIM card in another working phone to see whether you have the same issue.
If you do change plans, you will not lose bonus add ons (ie. XMAS giveaways). Do you have any re-occurring (monthly) bonus promo data with your $50 plan? You might lose this if you change plans. You will lose the US calling though because all of the new 50+ plans have no US calling.

I haven't noticed anything such as you describe. Has something changed in you're environment ? What part of this country are you in ?
BTW...If you did migrate to the newer 4G plan w/o US calling...you could get the 1000 Minutes of US calling add-on for $15.
