This is recommended. Many customers do this to get their phone functioning again and then sign up for self serve and sort it all out.

@CathrynNikkel your other option to reactive quick is to get a voucher from stores. Get from SDM, Shell, loblaws as their voucher can be used immediately with any wait time. Then use *611 to load the voucher and reactivate

@CathrynNikkel so, you don't have access to My Account yet?

I need an active phone to get the code to register for an account to make a manual payment. ?

@CathrynNikkel Did you try to make a manual payment?
Log into My Account, Payment page and first update the credit card.
Once updated, go back to One time payment. Make a payment using "Other (Enter the desired payment amount )" and manually enter your plan amount. Then submit
Once payment made, click the button Reactivate current plan if it is there. Then logoff My Account and reboot your phone
