It's unlikely that the pushing text and calls have anything to do with PM. More then likely there was a data breach at some companies that you have used your phone as contact info. Or from a random number generator that called your number. There's little to nothing you can do about it other then to block the numbers and change password on your all accounts regularly to protect yourself.

@Macorius, This should never happen of course and being that Public Mobile has been owned by TELUS for many years I would hope that there would be enough safe guards in place already but if you still feel uncomfortable I would say just keep monitoring your credit card transactions (which we all should be doing anyways) and if you spot any problems then to bring them up with your credit card company and with Public Mobile. If you still don't feel comfortable having you credit card info on file you could continue to pay with vouchers
